Microsoft has just dropped the cost of Windows Vista… in the US.
Vista Ultimate now retails at $319 (down from $399) and Vista Home Premium retails at $159 (originally $129).
Meanwhile, here in the UK, Vista Ultimate still retails around the £330 mark and Vista Home Premium around the £200 mark. Yes, those ARE pounds rather than dollars.
Windows Vista Upgrade prices (from Windows XP) are less but since when was an upgrade from one version of windows to another troublefree anyway? (Think rarely.)
Frankly, if you are running Windows XP our advice is to stick with it. XP Service Pack 3 will be along shortly to make it even more stable, secure and reliable than it already is.
